Dung-dung in Our Teeny Tiny Clothes Drying Space

Hubby wanted to clarify that this cat’s name isn’t Dudung as previously mentioned in the previous posts but Dung-Dung. Don’t ask me what it means , because I have no idea, I guess it just sounds funny. Anyway, this cat owns at least 4 apartments in our floor , very smart cat ! Whenever he’s not with us, he’s most likely to be found at either the college students’ apartment, good uncle’s apartment or another young childless couple’s apartment. He makes a very interesting neighbourhood conversation topic :
Neighbour : The cat doesn’t seem to like anything with ngohiong (Chinese 5-spices) in it ! So fussy ! He doesn’t like milk too !
Me : Yepp… he eats strictly fishes !
Neighbour : Yea , he loves ikan kembung. I have to run downstairs all the time to get him his favorite ikan kembung.

So there you go, four families trying their best to please one single cat. Tsk tsk tsk… The other families give him different names too, I noticed one of them calls him “mew mew” .

I recalled Dr.Ing. H. Fauzi Bowo- he is the governor of Jakarta, by the way – saying this during his visit , “For the past 5 years, people of Jakarta enjoyed religious freedom and peace .”

Why 5 years ? Oh yea… because he was elected 5 years ago and is running for election again now hehehe… I tried to dig his actual words – there must be somewhere in the news and … yay, I found it .

Yepp, good job! Good luck on the upcoming election Mr Foke, very sorry I can’t vote you nor can I vote Jokowi-Basuki since my IC says I’m a citizen of Surabaya.

This weekend I have so many things to do : shop for children’s Waisak celebration, prepare for the children’s Waisak celebration in our temple, clean up the house, prepare for Monday’s User Acceptance Test at work . My mind is busy with to-do list, I hope I can spend few hours contemplating this :

Happiness is here and now.
I have dropped my worries.
Nowhere to go.
Nothing to do.
No longer in a hurry.

Masuk angin

I’ve been extremely busy at work with lots of overtime thanks to this project , I hope it’ll be over soon. Yesterday, I realised I had “masuk angin” (catch cold) , I felt really dizzy for the whole day and on my way home from Tangerang, I felt nauseous and I felt the urge to throw up. I tried holding up the vomit because I didn’t want to shock my coworker and the taxi driver. As soon as I reached home, I asked the Hubby to “kerok” me. “Kerok” or “Kerik” is a traditional healing method that uses coin and some balm , rub balm all over your back and then begin scratching the bag with the coin. Kerokan seriously works ! I felt better afterwards and I regained my appetite! Yay ! Thanks Hubby ^^

Busy and such

I’m on blogging leave at the moment because my work is killing me -_-”. Anyway, yesterday Dudung – the stray cat who has been a serial overnighter at our apartment – had his first bath ^.^. He innocently stepped into the bathroom , so I asked him, “What are you doing here ?” and he answered , “Mreooowrr” , I translated that as “bath time please”. I quickly grabbed the shampoo and washed him. It was pretty easy, to my surprise Dudung didn’t struggle, he even seemed to enjoy his shampoo moments. Now he smells great and clean !

We still have a minor problem though, >.< he refused to use the litter box, but he’s such a polite and nice kitty cat that he simply hold it in. Uh oh…. So we had no other way but to let him out whenever I leave for work. He usually comes back at night for some dinner and sleep time. Any ideas on how to make him use the litter box the way modern cats do?

Yepp.. I hate Monday. I’m still tired from a weekend trip that left me hungry and sleep deprived ( but it was awesome, so that’s okay) , and now I’m redoing reports -_-” . More on the awesome trip later. Now work ..work..work… and here’s a sexist quote from the iron lady :

We weren’t allowed to use cameras, phones, ipads and whatever gadgets throughout the 3-days mindfulness meditation retreat, but the official photographer was allowed to snap some pics.

Walking meditation in the morning is simply awesome, something that can be difficult to do in Jakarta .

Yikes ! Sitting meditation was one of my least favorite activity.

It was 4.30 am ! How am I suppose to concentrate ??

Book reading and discussion . The book was “Planting Seeds” by Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh.

It was very very interesting We began applying some of the techniques from the book in our

Sunday Dhamma Class, children seemed to love them . I’ll share some of them in future posts.

Wounded Dudung

Dudung was badly wounded. I think I know who did it, there’s a fat orange cat who doesn’t seem to like Dudung very much. Yesterday he meowed in front of our door and we brought him in immediately. He had dinner at our place again and I applied some antiseptics on his wounds. The Hubby allowed Dudung to sleep in because he seemed so tired. Dudung quickly chose one of our “cookie” pillow and slept there. Dudung is still not permitted to live in our apartment permanently >.< but I can see Hubby has softened now.
