We spent the weekend doing nothing but packing! As what some of you might have known, we have to move to a new home by the end of this month. Packing looks easy, but it’s not. There’s more to packing than just putting everything in big boxes and sealing them up, especially because we know we have to squeeze in to an even smaller place. From a comfortable 60 squared-meter home, our new place will only be about 45 squared-meter. Obviously we had to be cruel. For every item that needs to be packed, we placed them in a decision tree with 3 paths : KEEP , TOSS, GIVE AWAY. Still sounds easy? From the TOSS node, we have another 2 paths going: SELL to tukang loak (people who buys secondhand goods), GARBAGE BIN. The GIVE AWAY have even more paths: FRIENDS, RANDOM PEOPLE, ORPHANAGE ?
After 2 long days of carefully selecting, tossing, searching and haggling with the tukang loak to give us the best price, I think we’re about 85% done. We just need to empty out the fridge, pack whatever is in the pantry, pack up the clothes, and we’re ready to go.
Just wait until it’s time to unpack!
hmm..one more thing i hate about packing is the time when you accidentally packed some things that you still need to use for the next couple days while waiting the truck picking the boxes..
lol ! i know , I almost did that too
